Dear Parent/Guardian,
This is a friendly reminder that all end-of-year trip permission forms and payment are due by 7:55 AM this Friday, May 8th.
This deadline is firm, as we must submit final attendance numbers to our trip destinations (Holiday World, Kart Kountry, and Malibu Jacks). Having accurate numbers ahead of time allows us to ensure an efficient arrival process and maximize the amount of time students are able to enjoy their experience at each location.
Quick Reminders:
Please return the completed permission form and admission payment.
Checks should be made payable to Stuart Pepper Middle School.
Forms and money are collected in the commons area.
If your child is not attending, please still return the form indicating that choice.
We are excited to celebrate our Rising Tides Gold, Silver, and Bronze Card students with these end-of-year experiences and appreciate your help in meeting this deadline.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your support,
David Phillips
Principal

Good afternoon SPMS families,
We will hold the Stuart Pepper Middle School SBDM Council parent election on Monday, May 11th. If you are interested in running for a parent position on the council please email your interest to the SPMS PTO member Rachel Sermonis no later than Monday, May 4th at rachel.sermonis@meade.kyschools.us. Your must have a student that is attending SPMS for the 26-27 school year.
An email will be sent out on Thursday, May 7th advising all families of the candidates. A link will be included in the email that won't open until the day of the election starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. Online voting will require parents to enter their Student's State ID number, found on the Infinite Campus App, to ensure that all counted votes are cast by parents/guardians of 26-27 SPMS students. Parents may also choose to vote in person on May 12th at the main office of SPMS.
Results of that election will be given to the council at their May meeting and each candidate will receive notification of the results.
We appreciate your time and consideration.

Your thoughtful gesture came at just the right time and was a much-needed pick-me-up for our team. It meant a great deal to our staff and did not go unnoticed.
We truly appreciate your continued kindness and support of Stuart Pepper Middle School!

We are proud to recognize our February and March Students of the Month for their outstanding hard work and dedication in the classroom!
These students consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to learning, take pride in their work, and approach each day with a positive attitude. They set a great example for their peers and contribute to a positive classroom environment.
Keep up the great work—we are proud of you! 👏📚

Our goal for the 2nd Annual Food Drive was 1,500 items… and you didn’t just meet it—you crushed it with a final total of 1,983 food items! 👏👏
Because of our incredible SPMS Leadership Team and the unwavering support of our community, these items will go right back into Meade County to support families facing food insecurity. That's the real impact. That’s real leadership.
🏆 School-wide team winner: The A Team with an incredible 623 items! Way to lead from the front! 👏
We are beyond proud of our students for stepping up, leading the charge, and proving once again that SPMS is built different. And to our community—THANK YOU for always backing our kids and showing what it means to take care of one another.
💚 This is the Greenwave way.

📣💚 Attention SPMS 8th Grade Families! 💚📣
It’s almost time to plan for high school! 🎓
9th Grade Scheduling Night for our current 8th graders is TONIGH at the Meade County High School Freshman Academy! This evening is dedicated to helping students and parents begin planning a successful transition to high school.
📅 Tuesday, March 17th
📍 In Person at MCHS Freshman Academy
Schedule by Last Name:
🕓 4:00–5:00 → A–G
🕔 5:00–6:00 → H–P
🕕 6:00–7:00 → Q–Z
(If you have more than one middle schooler with different last names, you may attend either session.)
During this time, families will:
✔️ Meet with an MCHS advisor
✔️ Discuss and finalize 9th grade course selections
✔️ Ask questions about scheduling and next steps
We want YOU to be an important part of this planning process as your Greenwave prepares for high school! 🌊
📌 A letter with full details and parking information (also attached below) is going home with students this week — please be sure to review it carefully.
If you cannot attend, please contact Aimee Fackler, 8th Grade Counselor, at 270-422-7530.
Let’s get our Greenwaves ready for a strong start to 9th grade! 💚🎓

On March 5th, our SPMS Student Leaders spent the morning at Barry Hahn Primary’s Read-a-Thon, teaming up with younger students for some reading time.
Our middle schoolers stepped up as role models, showing the younger students what it looks like to lead, help others, and bring positive Greenwave energy wherever they go.
Big Greenwaves leading the way for the little Greenwaves.

By this point in the school year our teachers are feeling a little like a late-summer lawn—well loved and a little worn down… so Pike Lawn & Garden stepped in to help give our staff a fresh cut and a little boost of energy!
We’re so grateful for businesses that support our schools and help keep our SPMS teachers looking sharp and ready to grow great things with our students.
#GreenwaveGratitude 💚
