We are excited to introduce Mrs. Jessie Pike as the new school counselor at Barry Hahn Primary School beginning in the 2026–2027 school year! Mrs. Pike brings a passion for supporting the whole child and building strong relationships with students and families. As she shared, “I’m excited to support every student as they grow, learn, and navigate their feelings. Every child deserves a safe space to feel seen, heard, and valued, and I’m honored to be part of that journey at BHP!” We can’t wait for our students to benefit from her care and dedication.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Bogard for her 7 years of service as BHP’s school counselor and her total of 26 years as a Meade County Schools employee. Her commitment to students, families, and staff has made a lasting impact on our school community. We are so grateful for the relationships she has built and the support she has provided over the years. Mrs. Bogard will always be a special part of BHP!

Spring has finally sprung! Due to this shortened week, field trips, and other activities, we will have a modified schedule for book exchange.
We will be open Wednesday and Thursday morning for any 2nd and 3rd graders who want to exchange books, esp those who didn't exchange books last week.
If you happen to be staying around here over spring break, don't forget to check out the Events calendar on the MCPL's website. I'm including pictures from the public library's Sound Garden and Story Walk, which are available to use anytime, whether the library is open or closed.

It was a fun week of outfits, hats and reading, reading, reading! Since the reading is continuing into this week, it's a good reminder that this is Library Week and all classes will be exchanging books. I gave out prizes last week to a few students whose classes were observant about the daily changes I made to the display case near the office.

I'm also including information about the upcoming Art Show hosted by MCPL. They are looking for art pieces created by people of all ages. For more information, please contact the public library.
