1. What is the next step if there is a position available that is of interest to me?
Submit a completed application here, then contact the Principal at the location of the open position and inform him/her of your interest.
2. How long is my application kept on file?
Applications are kept on file for 3 years.
3. What are the requirements to be an Instructional Assistant (Teachers Aide)?
48 college hours on official transcripts or an Associates Degree or a passing score on the paraeducator test.
4. Where do I take the paraeducator test?
Meade County College and Career Center (270) 422-7525, listen for the Meade Skills U option.
5. What are the qualifications to become a Substitute?
Substitute Instructional Assistant Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED and ONE of the following:
48 college credit hours
A copy of an Associate Degree diploma
A passing score on the Paraeducator Exam (more information below)

Substitute Teacher Qualifications (Must have ONE of the following)
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution*
64 or more College Credit Hours with at least a 2.45 GPA
*Applicants who possess a bachelor's degree in any subject area from a regionally or nationally accredited institution of post-secondary education do not need to meet the minimum grade point average requirements (KRS 161.102)

6. How do I become a substitute?
Submit a completed application. Once applications are reviewed, Janette Schmidt, Director of Personnel, will schedule interviews. After the interview process is complete candidates will be invited to attend a mandatory Substitute Training.
